Auditions for the 2025 Guard will be done in person on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 in Barnhill Arena on the University of Arkansas campus. Video auditions will be an option for prospective members unable to attend in person due to reasonable circumstances.

The RMB Guard is a vital part of the Razorback Marching Band.  The Guard provides not only visual entertainment on the field and in the stands, but carries the spirit, pride, and tradition of the University of Arkansas wherever we may go.  The RMB Guard has the opportunity to perform for one of the largest audiences in the SEC and across the country.  Whether it’s at home at Reynolds Razorback Stadium, or on the road, performing for our fans is a rewarding and unforgettable experience.  The members of the RMB Color Guard take great pride in representing ourselves, the band, the University, and the best mascot in the SEC, any chance we get.  Thank you for your interest in the RMB Guard, and good luck to our 2025 prospective members!  GO HOGS!

FAQ's

Please wear all-black, form-fitting attire, with hair pulled back into a low ponytail.  Please avoid wearing any logos, or attire that features school or program affiliation.
Typically, the RMB Guard meets for a  Thursday - Sunday summer camp in early July. Tentatively those dates have been scheduled for July 11th-13th. This year, we will also be holding a technique and pregame camp on May 31st-June 1st.  Other than that, the RMB Guard moves in a week before classes begin alongside the rest of the RMB.
The RMB Guard works very hard to keep rehearsal obligations to our class schedule and game day rehearsals only.  Typically, we meet two days a week from 3:30 - 5:45, and one day a week from 3:00 - 5:00.  The RMB arrives approximately seven hours before kick-off on game days for a rehearsal, provides meal, and pep rally obligations. There are no required outside sectionals for the RMB Guard, however, video pass-offs may be required to ensure performance readiness.
Each active member will receive a $500 scholarship dispersed in the Fall. If you have already been offered and accepted an instrumental scholarship by the University of Arkansas Bands program, acceptance to the RMB Guard will fulfill the fall Razorback Marching Band Requirement of that award, and you will be awarded your band scholarship. Guard scholarships may not be combined with an instrumental band award.
Members will be asked to purchase tan and black jazz shoes, performance tights, and a guard jacket.  Provided these items are cared for properly, they should last for the entirety of your time on the RMB Guard with few exceptions. All members of the RMB will be asked to purchase a UDB Subscription, earplugs, RMB Sunglasses for game day wear, a battery pack, and electrical tape for season use through the band.  Please note, that due to material availability, shipping, and tax rates, prices may vary from year to year.
